HILEVEL Technology does not create software
that maintains, monitors or depends on date information. Therefore, compliance requirements only apply to the controlling computer and operating system.
HILEVEL Technology Inc. cannot be responsible for the software and operating systems of another party where Y2K compliance is an issue. However, HILEVEL can provide a path to full compliance through upgrade offers that replace all or part of existing systems, at only a very reasonable cost to the customer. Questions regarding Year 2000 Compliance of HILEVEL Technology products and our responses are listed below.
Y2K FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
about HILEVEL's Year 2000 Compliance
1. Which products meet the year 2000 compliance demands?
All HILEVEL Technology products that have Pentium-based controllers
and are using our ETSNT software platform are Year 2000 Compliant to the
level of compliance stated by Microsoft Corp. for WindowsNT. Therefore, all products currently being offered by HILEVEL Technology are compliant and any product that has been upgraded to ETSNT running on a Pentium-based controller is compliant (See note below).
2. Which products do not meet the year 2000 compliance
demands?
Products that have not been upgraded to ETSNT running on a Pentium-based controller are not guaranteed to meet compliance. Microsoft Corporation has made the published statement that DOS 6.22 has "issues" regarding Y2K and has no published statement about any plans to offer an upgrade of DOS to resolve those issues.
3. If the product does not meet the demands, when will
these products meet the demands?
HILEVEL Technology currently offers upgrades to a Pentium-based controller. Users of pre-Pentium controllers can seek directions from their computer BIOS and operating system suppliers regarding actions required being compliant. If a fully compliant software/hardware scenario cannot be achieved with certain products (such as DOS or computer BIOS) HILEVEL can assist users with upgrades to current HILEVEL test systems that do meet those demands.
4. Which products will never meet those demands?
Products that have not been upgraded to ETSNT running on Pentium-based
controllers or do not satisfy the compliance statements of their computer
and operating system suppliers can not be guaranteed to meet the demands.
Some products cannot be operated under WindowsNT, and in such cases an
attractive upgrade to our next generation system may be offered. These
products include:
TOPAZ and TOPAZV Series Test Systems
ETS7000 Test Systems
ETS200 and ETS300 Series Test Systems using DOS
DT and DS Series Development Systems
Note: Pentium upgrades not made by HILEVEL are not supported
and are not guaranteed to meet Y2K compliance standards.
